The new MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex brings a one-of-a-kind sports facility to West Des Moines and Central Iowa as a whole. Across its massive 18-acre site, Valley View Aquatic Center offers residents looking to splash, swim, dive, or drift in the lazy river over 24,000 square feet of water. There’s something for everyone—a shallow play pool for kids, a competitive lap/diving pool, a lazy river, and water slides for all ages. West Des Moines welcomes over 135,000 guests to our aquatic centers each summer.
